Parental concerns arise in part because of the belief that fever is a disease rather than a symptom or sign of illness. Twenty years ago, Barton Schmitt, MD, found that parents had numerous misconceptions about fever. These unrealistic concerns were termed “fever phobia.” Read the rest of this entry

You may laugh at this, but I hear this all the time, “Why isn’t my pain gone yet? I’ve already had a few adjustments, why is the pain still here?” Well, a few factors play a role in your experience of pain. The first and most important thing is how long have you had the pain? Second, is did you take care of yourself like eat the proper foods, workout, get enough sleep and get regular Walnut Creek Chiropractic tune-ups. And third, miracles do happen, but not with 60 years of arthritis, mortgages, car payments and kids and grandkids. In other words, the length of time you’ve been dealing with the problem, the methods in which you used to deal with the pain, and compounding physical and emotional stresses play a huge role in your continued experience of pain.

Let me share a story from a Walnut Creek Chiropractor friend of mine. Many years ago, Dr. Damon used to work out a lot. When he was 19 years old, he was attempting to break a world record. This record was 681 lbs. in the Squat power lifting exercise. About 1 month before he was going to break the record, he severely injured his back, while working out with 600 lbs. The weight came down on top of him and he was paralyzed and unable to move. At the Gym, they wanted to take him to the Emergency Room. He wouldn’t let them. He would only go to his Walnut Creek Chiropractor. He knew that his body needed an adjustment. His father and brother brought him to his Walnut Creek Chiropractor and left him there for the rest of the day. The Walnut Creek Chiropractor adjusted him 3 times a day (they dropped him off at 7:30am and his Dad picked him up at 6:00pm). Read the rest of this entry

But doesn’t it seem impossible that hundreds of thousands of physicians researching through the years could have overlooked anything? They have had millions of dollars at their disposal, and every scientific device invented to uncover the cause of sickness and find it’s cure.

To imagine they could have overlooked anything important seems a little far fetched. However, sicknesses that existed 4,000 years ago exist today. The same symptoms that existed then are with us today. Names change. Treatments shift. So isn’t it time we look for the cause of health, rather than the cause of sickness?
