  1. It seems to me like this book was written more as a promotion for the people in the book than as a learning product. Almost every story has a long description about the problems they faced ( with details) and then short description of the changes. You won’t find the specific thoughts or visualisations they used to achieve it. Many of authors you can find online and then pay again to find out, how they sloved their situations. If that’s what you are looking for – then this book is for you.

Now, there is short section about the ways you can do things(separate from the story people, so it is not very useful), but if you read other LOA books, won’t find much new there.

I hoped it would be as Neville Reader, where a lot of stories are very vivid with very specific thoughts that created a wonderful solution.

  2. I just loved this book. And I signed up to get Darren Jacklin’s Facebook tips. I always get a “lift” from his thoughts. In my opinion, Darren is the “next big thing” in motivational thinking.

His book provides real-life examples of people who have lived The Law of Attraction—and how it changed their life. Jacklin provides plenty of solid details on just how they made The Law of Attraction work.

The book is well written and organized, with examples in key areas of life like Health, Business, Happiness and Relationships.

If you have an opportunity to see Darren speak or if you can attend one of his workshops, I believe it will add an entirely new dimension to what he writes so eloquently about in his book.

  3. To be honest I have a love hate view of books on the law of attraction, simply because none have been written by people in poor countries, ravaged by war and centuries of poverty and disease. All seem to be written by self absorbed western people who when you step back and look at their lives as a whole, have never suffered from lack of anything. Sure most like the rest of us have had bumps in the road, but that’s called life.

What troubles me about this book is its yet another book that is focused on the ever common self centered me me mentality. Lacking in what we call common sense, referring instead to concoct some mystical fantasy woven with a thread of truth here and there.

As an example, in the section Stories of Triumph over Pain and Depression we have a woman named Julie Ann Connelly who writes Out of the Darkness: Depression is a Choice. She writes on page 41 ‘ In the United States of America, depression has become an epidemic . Anti depression drugs are being prescribed in record levels and nevertheless , individuals are still living in a depressed state. Stop. Change your thought process and change your life’.

Anyone who knows anything about depression knows their is situational depression and then their is depression caused by head injuries, such as the kind my husband had after being hit by a .25 BAL drunk driver and left disabled, requiring my 24/7 care for fourteen years until he died. So I was insulted and yes offended my such naive drivel. Sure, we may have an epidemic of situational depression where way to many people seek a pill for a solution rather than change lifestyle choices and other changeable choices. But never ever lump all people with depression into one lump!!

Read the Section on Happiness and the stories under Stories of Living the Life of Your Dreams, and you will see some worthy common sense advise. Having watched the Senate hearings for Sonia Sotomayor one can see that people who have goals and apply themselves, pretty much attain their goals. What I think the law of attraction fans need to stress more is, hard work and having a plan or map and sticking to it.

If you need a larger home then design a plan and learn to network and become more observant at opportunities that will present them self. Am disappointed that the book like way to many law of attraction books, is to materialistic centered. When will people learn that its not ‘stuff’ that will make you happy. Know way to many people here in northern California who two and three years ago when The Secret was on Oprah, sought the McMansion even though they could NOT afford the home. They claimed they practiced the law of attraction and got their dream. Now they are living the nightmare because they have homes they have either lost of have homes being foreclosed on. Thus…. be careful what you ask for.

Personally I prefer the book Write It Down, Make It Happen: Knowing What You Want And Getting It by Henriette Anne Klauser, Ph.D because she helps the reader know the difference between a need and a want as well as teach how to rethink what you think you want and what you actually want. Got the book nine years ago when we were looking to move and at the start I had all these ideas of what I thought I wanted, but using her journal idea I discovered over weeks and months that what I thought I wanted was more like what I thought other people had that I thought I needed. Six months later I have fine tuned and downsized my wants and found the new place we would move to. Again its about knowing the difference between thinking you need or want something and actually needing or wanting something and having it become a goal you reach.

Also think people misuse the word Miracle. Most good and unexpected things that come into our lives are Blessings and not Miracles that defy explanation. So I wasn’t impressed with the section on Everyday Miracles. It should have been titled Everyday Blessings. If people would stop and reflect on the bounty they have in their lives compared to much of the world where clean water is hard to come by, I think we would have a less self centered me me society.

Did like two sections of the book that dealt with weight loss and sports and fitness. Each focused on developing self discipline and not quitting when plateaus happen. Which working with disabled athletes has shown is a must. Stories of Success in Business has some worthy stories that focus on having a serious game plan and learning to listen and network with people who know what they are doing.

As with many books there are good sections, which is why I still suggest you read the book.

  5. Living The Law of Attraction is about the power of positive think. The authors’ theory is to think good thoughts will bring good things into your life. Thinking bad thoughts will bring negative things into your live. Rich German and Robin Hoch offer over sixty stories that back up their premise. I’m not sure I totally sold on their theory but I do believe it in part. When people are negative they tend to feel bad and to contract illnesses. Positive people tend to attract other people hence…love and joy. We have peace when we practice positive thinking. I prefer to work with people that are positive but I also know some very grouchy business owners that are rather successful. I do know that I try to avoid negative people because they can turn my mood.

Living The Law of Attraction is interesting. I enjoyed reading the 60 something stories. This book is well written, easy to understand and sure to please everyone…think positive!
