In cases of large or pronounced lower jaws that exceed the corrective abilities of simple rubber bands & braces lower jaw set-back surgery offers a predictable treatment option. We often recommend that the surgery be performed after a patient has completed their adolescent growth. Lower jaw set-back surgery is also known as bisagittal split osteotomy (BSSO) set-back surgery.
