@bmerah08 sorry me bad i always forget that iran isnt arab and hate being called that. but what do they call themselves? persian or just iranian or what?

  2. @Pantalaimon345 they speak farsi in iran….

  3. Pantalaimon345 May 28, 2010 at 10:16 pm

@molloyxx1 i mean if i went to france to live id learn french, to china chinese, to mexico spanish to iran arabic. why do we view it as offensive to teach them english before they become citizens? and i kinda got cut off but yes wonderful example of capitalism they are buying mercedes and like i said are owners of companies rather than workers because they have an incredible work ethic. i think americans should take lessons from them.

  4. Pantalaimon345 May 28, 2010 at 11:00 pm

@molloyxx1 Ya and i understand that their country sucks but do they really have to bring illegal drugs with them? and whats wrong with waiting their turn to get in like every other immigrant does? i know life sucks there, but totally ignoring the culture of the country you’re going to is ridiculous and we allow it which is worse. and in florida i know that the ones who were once workers are now buying the white owners of the company out and having much higher standards of living. ya capitalism

  5. @Pantalaimon345 Most illegal immigrants claw their way into this country in order to find work. And very often they are, however undocumented, given work by American businesses, large and small [ meat packing corporations are notorious for this] because they can be paid sub-minimal wages wages white Ameicans would never consider, thus maximizing profits. Once again it is an example of lazy-fare [ pun intended] capitalism.

@molloyxx1 Well perhaps the whole thing with the vast majority being from south of the border is a reason for picking Hispanics? just a thought. ive been thinking though that we should give every illegal immigrant $1 million. itd be nice. but i mean by great great grandpa came over with $43 in his pocket learned English and American culture and succeeded phenomenally. i still have the book he was given called Lessons in Democracy i just dont understand why we should cater to illegal immigrants.

  7. @Pantalaimon345 So be it. As far as what is happening in Arizona, I am struck that Tom Tancredo, right wing extremist extra-ordinaire, notorious for his xenophobia, is against it. I forsee all manner of Latino American citizens being pulled over for ‘driving while brown’ and, in political terms, its suicidal for the GOP; the Latino demographic is growing and steadily tending towards the Democrats and make a real diffeence in bordr state elections.

@molloyxx1 Then i will leave it by saying anyone who lives at the forced expense of another human is doing a great moral wrong. I do not like seeing others suffer either but forcing others to help them is wrong and nothing good can come of it. It rewards failure and punishes success. It ignores reason and history and goes with whim worship. Well then whats your opinion on whats happening in Arizona?

  9. @Pantalaimon345 Pantal. I think we’ve reached a dead zone re our discussion of health care reform. We have fundamental diasagreements that simply aren’t going to be changed or even slightly modified. I think its for the greater good, however watered down [ losing the public option was vastly depressing].Still, I work with hundreds of diabled people who will benefit from it signficantly, who will suffer less and live better lives and I’ll leave it right there.

@molloyxx1 Well im with you on the gay thing. but im actually referring to the healthcare.

  12. Always embarrassing to spell education wrong; just got off o red eye from the east coat and so Im blaming it i that.

  13. @Pantalaimon345 Are you referring to slavery, the right for workers to make profis for their masters in safe conditions, child labor, the refusal to let women to vote until 1924, the refusal to let gay women and men avail themselves of somewthing common felons are allowed; maraaige, the right to equal opportunities for employent and edicatian and participate in military service? Be specific.

  14. Pantalaimon345 May 29, 2010 at 4:26 am

@molloyxx1 you still havent answered the question of how you think violating another human’s rights is justified.

  15. @Pantalaimon345 So be it, Pantal. We again agree to disagree; I prefer, and am more inspired by,[even though I am a hopeful agnostic], many basic Christian principles to the dry mechanics of unregulated capitalism. Have a good night.

@molloyxx1 o yes lewis himself said christianity is merely socialism or something of the sort. he may be right but i can find passages in the bible to go either way. but what made me question my faith was when people started burning harry potter books in the name of God- total insanity in my opinion. I like a lot of stuff lewis said though. i like rand b/c she was for lassiez- fair capitalism and had this whole morality to go with it. i like them both.

  18. @Pantalaimon345 NBC? Intersting as this network is routinely assailed by Bull Orally and company as a megaphone for the left wing. Actuallly, the major networks coverage is fairly bland but certainly more trustworthy than Fox and free of rampant paranoia, tantrums, weeping and end of the world prophecies. Rand is the long dead poet [ and an athiest if I have my facts in order] laureate of unvarnished self interest, something a Christian like Lewis might well have taken issue with.

@molloyxx1 for the news i read the paper and watch nbc occasionally- if i dont watch it then i dont watch any at all it just depends if i have time or not. the way i arrived at my views is from when i took american history in 8th grade and looked and the current US and was extremely disenchanted. ever since then i have pretty much done my own thing c.s. lewis and ayn rand had an influence on me but it was all in my head before if that makes sense these two just put it into words

  21. Does anyone really believe this to be good?

  22. @Pantalaimon345 You say you don’t listen to right wing radio. I accept this at face value. But, please, tell what sources you do get your information from.

  23. Pantalaimon345 May 29, 2010 at 9:14 am

@molloyxx1 woops sorry my grammar was bad. “lincoln was a republican asshole” you were the asshole not lincoln my bad. everyone is born with the same rights and with dignity. I dont listen to talk radio either. You misunderstand me. i am mainly referring to affirmative action and theres nothing good about it. sucks about your system though.

  24. @Pantalaimon345 Sometimes this system doesnt allow me to reply [ hence 'testing]. Most civil rights shit is worhtless? Like Brown vs the Board of Education? Like allowing black Americans to eat at the same diner as white Americans? Or to choose any seat on the bus? Or be protected from discrimination by employers because of the color of their skin? Everyone against slavery was ‘an asshole’? No wonder right wing radio is referred to as Hate Radio.
