Pfizer halts third study of experimental pain drug
(AP:NEW YORK) Drugmaker Pfizer Inc. is stopping tests of an experimental drug for two types of pain at the request of federal regulators. Pfizer was testing tanezumab in patients with chronic low back pain and with painful nerve damage from diabetes complications.

Pfizer Inc. today announced, at the request of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration , the suspension of the chronic low back pain and painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy studies in the clinical program for the investigational compound tanezumab.
