Question by tallysmiley: Hip pain before period… is this normal?
I always know when I am going to get my period because I get this weird pain in my hips it’s almost like “growing pains” that you get when you are little. Is this normal, I have been getting it since my 1′st or second period (that was years ago) but anyway is there any reason to be conserned? Thansk

  1. Yes it is normal. It’s your ovaries getting their motor started. Seriously, it’s not unusual. I used to get these hip pains, too. Always surprised me.

    From a similar question:

It’s probably harmless. Some women have a small amount of discomfort in one of their ovaries – it’s caused by ovulation.

(That feeling is called mittelschmerz, if you’re curious.)
