Question by luvmycats: Pain “somewhere” in clavical/collar bone area?
I have never had a neck/shoulder/chest injury. When I am driving for long periods of time, I sometimes get this “pain” that seems to be “somewhere” between my shoulder and neck–that’s why I said clavical or collar bone out of guessing. The pain feels like 2 bones need to re-click back into a “proper” position–because when I move one way it is extremely painful so I slowly move back to a “neutral” position. It eventually goes away after I finish driving, but it sure hurts like the dickens when I’m going through it. I have only had this happen when driving for long time periods–5-9 hours. I think way back when, it might have happpened once before when I had not been driving. Any ideas of what it could be?

It’s just your body being out of alignment – you can go see a chiropractor to help with getting yourself to feel better, but the best thing you can do is move a lot when you drive.
If you have a lumbar support, move that into different positions 6 times in an hour, sit your seat forward and back and higher and lower if you can at least 6 times in one hour. Lean to different sides and lean forward and back at least 6 times in one hour – use a small back pillow if you dont’ have lumbar support in your car.
Basically, change your position as much as possible 6 times in an hour, and get out and walk as much as you can- and do some stretches.
This will keep your muscles from tightening up and pulling your bones out of whack.
Good luck
