My grandmother is on Glipizide and appears to be losing weight. She is thin and dose not need to lose weight.

Most diabetic medication cause a weight GAIN, because the body is better using the blood sugar — and that includes converting excess to fat.

Your grandmother needs to consult with her doctor. weight LOSS is a sign of majorly out-of-control diabetes. if your grandmother is “non-compliant” (not following doctors orders concerning diet and exercise) then the Glipizide may not be working, and her diabetes is getting WORSE.
