Question by msbanks83: I have left leg pain, and the only time it bothers me is when I sit down, very healthy and active.?
Pain stops when I take “goodys arthirities and joint pain “medicine.
Best answer:
Answer by deltaqueen Sounds like you may just have a budging disc in your lower back that is aggravating your sciatic nerve. Although the pain is in your leg the sciatic nerve runs from the middle of you back ,down your leg, across your shin to your big toe.
Most time Sciatic pain is noticed most in the hip and legs.
When you take the “goodies” it is relieving the swelling of the disc. I recommend resting as much as possible, keep taking the anti inflammatories and maybe even icing you lower back.
Good Luck, hope it helps

Question by boxbeatle: What would cause a pain in my left hip, knee, and top of foot?
It all started when I took a job standing all day, I thought that I would be better when I left and found a sit down job. I had the stand up job for 6 months. After one month on the new job the pain is better, but it is still there. My knee was more swollen before. None of the pain is severe. The top of my foot gets a slight “pain” (for lack of a better description), and my knee has a slight pain. The hip thing just started, just a very slight pain. I loosen my shoe strings and it helps, but always comes around the worst mid-afternoon. What in the world could this all be?
Best answer:
Answer by Bradley R How are the shoes your are standing in all day? If they are not giving you proper support, that can cause pain in your knee and hip. You should look into a cheap pair of insoles, I’d recommend orthotics that give you a firm positioning with comfortable cushioning as well.
This COULD be sciatic nerve pain as well. My sciatic nerve pain runs down my leg from my hip to my knee and to my foot.
If the pain tingles, there is numbness or there is burning (or the general feeling its kind of asleep) then there is nerve involvement. If this is the case you could have a small disk herniation or something else slightly compressing your nerves, most likely closer to your back.
If the latter is the case, if it sounds like nerve pain, you should discuss this with a doctor. If it isn’t nerve pain, try insoles watch your posture at work. If it doesn’t improve, then you should also seek professional medical advice then as well.
I wish you the best of luck and although I am not a doctor, I suffer chronic pain and have very thoroughly studied these issues so please feel free to email me if you have any questions I can help with! take care

Question by Steve: Terrible back pain. Can hardly walk. Left mid to upper back.?
Help me!!! All I can remember doing was picking up my newborn daughter who weighs 5lbs, felt the normal, “Ouch, think I pulled a muscle” feeling. Woke up almost impossible to walk. I actually thought I was having a heart attack since the pain seems to be right behind where my heart is. If I take my shirt off, you can actually tell that my body looks kinda crooked, with more love handle on my left side. Been taking 1400mg worth of motrin with no relief.
Please help me, I have been out of work for a week due to my childs birth, I am due back tomorrow, and I dont want to miss more work.
Best answer:
Answer by mistify You did not mention when this happened. If it’s within a day or two it may simply be a muscle strain and resolve on it’s own. If it’s been more than that and you’ve had no relief with ibuprofen, it is possible you have an disc protrusion that has resulted in an acute lateral shift in your spine. I would recommend you see your physician and see if he/she will refer you to physical therapy. I would recommend you see one who has completed the credentialling in mechanical dianosis and therapy. Question by Jc_Nj: Pain in left side of my head behind my ear, right ont he base of my skull?
Hi,
Last night I was removing my headband, and touched the base of my skull on the left side. After i touched I started experiencing a small amount of pain each time I touched it thereafter. I thought nothing of it, and went to sleep. This mornign I woke up, and it is even more tender there now. I am on an antibiotic ( getting over a sinus infection) and have had a “pinched nerve pain” in the upper portion of my neck on the left side. Did the pain move up? what could this be? It is sometimes not noticeable( but ofcourse) when i think about it, it worsens…..Please help!
Best answer:
Answer by Jeffrey Sounds like your sinus infection is also in your ear. Are you taking a decongestant 2-3 times per day it make sure your sinuses are draining so you can get over the infection? (Most people fail to heed their Doctors advice and take a decongestant with the antibiotic).
It could be your pinched nerve acting up (Been there myself) but my money would go on the ole fashion ear ache/pressure due to your sinus infection. Good luck!

Lower Left Back Pain ? Causes and Tips for Preventing Lower Back Pain
Lower left back pain is a wide-spread malady these days. It causes severe agony and pain to the sufferers. There are several factors that cause it.
1. Herniated disc
Our lumber spine contains discs which act like cushions between the bones. As we grow old, the discs become flat, weak and less cushiony. Their outer part may tear up letting the inside of the disc to push through it and press on the nerve located around it. If this happens the patient feels severe pain shooting down through one or both the legs.
When the disc thus sticks out, it is called herniated, bulged, ruptured or slipped disc.
2. Spinal deterioration
Age is another name for deterioration or the wear and tear of the physiological functions. One such deterioration occurs in the spine which causes the narrowing of the spinal canal. We start feeling stiff and are unable to bend without feeling pain in the lower back.
3. Accidental factors
We can neither anticipate nor control traumatic accidents, causation of kidney stones, irritable bowel syndrome, infections or injuries during sports and physical workouts. All these conditions and many more may cause lower left back pain despite best precautions.
Tips for preventing and treating lower left back pain
Most causes of lower back left pain can be substantially controlled or eliminated if we make a few simple changes in our daily routine.
1. Take regular Exercises
Regular exercises like walking and swimming can keep your back flexible and healthy.
2. Maintain right posture
Most of our work involves sitting over long periods whether we are working in our office or driving a car. Sometimes we get so much involved in our work, that we become careless in maintaining the right posture.
It is always advisable to take a break from a continued sitting by standing, walking or stretching for a short while.
3. Keep your back straight. Avoid lifting a heavy object by bending your lower back over it.
4. Avoid wearing high heeled shoes. The heel size should preferably be one inch or even lower.
