Does Barack Obama’s Rhetoric Scare You?
Question by andrewclunn: Does Barack Obama’s Rhetoric Scare You?
Whenever I listen to Obama speak about the economy, I listen closely to hear any specifics. I hear a lot about what he wants to do, but nothing about how he intends to do it (And trust me, I’m listening.) I also hear a lot of language like, ‘We’re all in this together,” and “… my budget focuses on health care, energy and education…” Things that are either ideological rallying cries or sound like they have substance and are specific, but aren’t really. I’m in New York where everyone seems to love Obama and think he’s already the best president in decades. Where is this enamoration coming from and am I just being overly critical? (After all, maybe we shouldn’t expect specifics from presidential speeches and generalizations are all we can hope for.)
