Question by Tivona W: I’ve had this pain in my right side for about 2 weeks. what could it be?
it started out very faint but now it’s getting worse. it’s just this pang that goes throughout my right side, around my hip and almost around to my back. i’ve looked up “side pain” on wrongdiagnosis.com, and there was a lot of kidney articles. the pain isn’t unbearable, just really uncomfortable. and it’s not constant, i just feel it a few times a day. do you have any idea what this exactly is? have you ever experienced anything like this?
Ghee-
i’m not having trouble peeing, and there is no burning. i don’t have chills or a fever. i’m pretty sure my period has been regular. i’m most definitely not pregnant. and i don’t think appendix pain would last for two weeks.

all it is is that pain…

Answer by Ghee
Your description is really too vague – kidney would mean that you are having trouble peeing – or having burning – an if it is a kidney infection -you will start having chills and running a fever –
It could be ovary – has your period been regular – is it possible you are pregnant? could it be tubal?
Appendix? intestinal? You will have to rule out some possibilities – and if it gets worse – see your Dr.

Question by Regan’s Mommy, due 3/10: Is is common to have mild cramping on 1 side of uterus during earling pregnancy?
I just got a BFP and am about 4 weeks pregnant. I have noticed some very mild cramping on one side of my pelvic area along with some almost “pulled muscle” type pain in my right thigh. Is this normal or should I be worried? I haven’t had any bleeding or spotting, only noticing the dull/mild cramps.

Thanks for all the advice in advance:)
Thank you Andrea! That makes me feel alot better.

Question by Jc_Nj: Pain in left side of my head behind my ear, right ont he base of my skull?
Hi,
Last night I was removing my headband, and touched the base of my skull on the left side. After i touched I started experiencing a small amount of pain each time I touched it thereafter. I thought nothing of it, and went to sleep. This mornign I woke up, and it is even more tender there now. I am on an antibiotic ( getting over a sinus infection) and have had a “pinched nerve pain” in the upper portion of my neck on the left side. Did the pain move up? what could this be? It is sometimes not noticeable( but ofcourse) when i think about it, it worsens…..Please help!

Best answer:

Answer by Jeffrey
Sounds like your sinus infection is also in your ear. Are you taking a decongestant 2-3 times per day it make sure your sinuses are draining so you can get over the infection? (Most people fail to heed their Doctors advice and take a decongestant with the antibiotic).
It could be your pinched nerve acting up (Been there myself) but my money would go on the ole fashion ear ache/pressure due to your sinus infection. Good luck!

Hebal Pain Remedies Work with out the Harsh Side Effects of Prescription Medication

Herbal pain remedies abound. They are gentler on the body than prescription pain remedies, although they are a bit slower to act and are milder. They make up for their mildness through their side effects. Some help increase circulation, others are antispasmodic.

Some effective herbal pain remedies include the following herbs, which can easily be found locally or online.

Muscles

Chamomile is known for its calming effects to the mind. It also calms the smooth muscle tissue of the body. Chamomile can be taken as a tea, an extract or in capsules for gentle relief. Other herbal pain remedies for muscles include yarrow, whose juice is exceptional for strengthening back muscles. Meadowsweet, when made into an infusion and rubbed on sore areas three times a day is good for muscle strain… especially when mixed with cramp bark and lobelia. An effective heat pack can be made with white or black mustard seed packs.

Digestive

Horsetail heals connective tissue, normalizes the bowels and can relieve lower back pain, which can usually be traced to digestive problems. It can be taken internally as a tea, an extract or in capsules. Ginger is another aid for digestive upset, pain and gas. Make it into a tea using fresh ginger slices. After it has simmered for half an hour, let it cool another thirty minutes. Strain and drink a cup. It may be sweetened to taste.

Anti-inflammatory

Bromelain is extracted from the pineapple plant, and it is a very powerful anti-inflammatory. Other very effective anti-inflammatories include valerian, Jamaican dogwood and St. John’s wort. These are especially effective when used as a tea. Rosemary is another anti-inflammatory. It has several substances that work against inflammation, including camosol, rosmarinic acid, ursolic acid and oleanolic acid. Drinking a tea made of rosemary twice a day is helpful.

Another anti-inflammatory with other qualities like relieving spasms and pain is angelica. Drinking the room temperature tea can be very effective. It has had a long history in China and Europe for helping heal pain.

Stress

When muscle pain is due to stress, St John’s wort, lemon balm, borage and valerian are all effective measures.

General Pain

Burdock soothes pain as well as purifies blood. It is available as an extract or in capsules. Cayenne pepper contains a component called capsaicin. Used in liniments and muscle rubs, capsaicin interferes with our perception of pain and triggers the release of endorphins.

Willow bark (Salix alba) led to the discovery of aspirin. Before that, it was used by the ancient Greeks as well as Native Americans. Willow bark tea still helps relieve pain. Cramp bark and Black haw are both members of the Viburnum family. They provide an anti-spasmodic effect and they relax muscles. They have historically been used for menstrual cramps, arthritis and muscle spasms. The tinctured form is best for pain relief.

Another common pain remedy is peppermint. Peppermint is known to ease muscle tightness and is used in liniments. Camphor is a related compound that can be found in hyssop, coriander and spike lavender.

Next time you have some aches and pains, reach for some herbal pain remedies. You may be surprised how much better they help you feel.
