This one is for all those who claim “miracles” as proof of a deity. Do you have one that ACTUALLY qualifies?
Question by Enigma®Ragnarökin’: This one is for all those who claim “miracles” as proof of a deity. Do you have one that ACTUALLY qualifies?
The old blind man seeing is crap, show me a man with no eyes that grew them! The lame guy walking is a stage show gag, lets see an amputee grow his leg back. Cancer being cured is called “remission”, show me a woman who had a mastectomy for cancer and regrew her breast without reconstructive surgery. I’ve seen how miracles happen in the real world, and there is no prayer, speaking in tongues, or possession. Just lots of blood, sweat, pain, sutures, and skill. The doctors, nurses and techs do their jobs, and nature does the rest. No miraculous healing, no instant sight, although the laying on (and sometimes inside) of hands does take place over and over, all day long, every day. “miracles don’t need a scalpel, this is called surgery”
Mizz Al-Abbady: Already needed a god, but one didn’t exist then either.
Shinigami: more people than that saw David Copperfield make the Statue of Liberty disappear.
John D: you said it your own self; After he was taken to the hospital and treated
Have a nice day.
Alex T: Are you sure you’re with these others? You have a good attitude, and I appreciate your answer. I respect your belief, but cannot believe it myself. I don’t need an education in your religion, or most religions for that matter, as I am a former Christian myself with a sufficient education. Education, reason, experience, and the same scriptures that inspire you are what inspired me to my present beliefs. Answers like yours remind those of us outside your religion that not all are like the self-righteous hypocrites we’re accustomed to seeing. Thank you for your time and effort, and have a wonderful day.
ailsa w: Before my first heart attack, that might have caught my attention. I was given less than a year to live over a decade ago. No divine intervention, just exercise, diet, medication, and too mean to quit. Have a nice day.

Yes. Yes, I do. Will more than 10,000 witnesses do?

Amputees who don’t grow a new limb are amputees possessed by Satan.
Right?
Indeed. Australian comedian/songwriter Tim Minchin summed it up perfectly:
Israel’s existence.
Do we live in the paradise of miracle? Or do we live on Earth?
the miracles of the surgery..
it’s one miraculous event to the patient..
bye ;p
i know it’s not good enough for you, but i have a friend who was healed of multiple sclerosis through prayers of faith.
I read something once that kind of caught my attention about miracles. This writer pointed out that God is seen as omnipotent and omniscient. If that’s so then it follows that the world we experience, which He created, must be perfect. If miracles happen then they are adjustments made to adjust some factor in our world that wasn’t perfect. God made a mistake and fixes it with a miracle here and there.
I think Terry Pratchett said it best:
“When someone is saved from certain death by a strange concatenation of circumstances, they say that’s a miracle. But of course if someone is killed by a freak chain of events — the oil just spilled there, the safety fence just broke there– that must also be a miracle. Just because its not nice doesn’t mean its not miraculous.”
My uncle has cancer and he prayed to God to be cured. After he was taken to the hospital and treated, we prayed and prayed and finally, when all hope seemed lost, he recovered.
Miracles do happen.
Ok, what about my friends husband who had a tumor and while the Dr. was doing the MRI it disappeared. The Dr. couldn’t even explain that one.
It’s too bad that you are blind, because then you would see miracles everyday. I guess your eyes will be opened when you die.
I worked on a building site with Jesus does that count?
There we were working away and Jesus cried!…….ouch! that was sore!!!!……he had missed a nail and hit his own finger. Now that finger swole up like a baloon and then the next minute…..slap wallop kazam….the swelling had gone.
How’s that for a miracle?
There have been many miraculous event but they are nothing to do with God.
If the preachings are to be belkieved he is a bit like Superman and doesn’t interfere with human history.
Next Question
What good would it be to actually show you a “real” or “proof” of a miracle if you would come up for a smart answer or “scientific” excuse for it?
Let God himself come to you or let him hit you with a lightining bolt if thats what you want. But trust me, at one point in your life or the other, you will be in need of him and you will believe.
And for you saying you “needed” him at one point and didn’t find him…are you 100% sure you didn’t find him and maybe you were just ignoring him?
I am a Christian but I do not believe miracles are “proof” of anything, except for proof that some event happened. In fact, I would argue that there is not much of a distinction between a miracle and non-miracle event, as all require intervention (at some point in time, something had to intervene for us to get to our current state – feel free to mail me if you want a more complete explanation of that).
There are evidences of a diety, such as the Bible. However most non-Christians do not accept the Bible as evidence, and they don’t accept any of our other evidence either.
I’d love to discuss further so please let me know.
Then explain to me why my son is not in a grave! The Dr’s called us twice to tell us he was dying and yet some how he made it and they couldn’t explain it. Just because you don’t believe doesn’t mean they don’t happen. We prayed for him constantly and God provided the miracle. He gave the Dr’s the knowledge they use the skills they have and the love for others they have. He blessed the Dr’s with a steady hand and the fortitude to do it.
Hello Enigma,
You only need to look around you to see the miracles that prove God’s existance. One example is all the young teenage girls becoming pregnant. If you will ask them they will quickly reply that they did not have sex with any men and you can confirm this by the fact that no man will be by their side during the birth. So this by itself proves God has chosen these virtuous young girls to be the mother of more of his children.
And just as Jesus gave out loaves of fish and bread to countless people so does the government give out cheese with a never-ending supply.
The Catholic Church is slow to call something a bona-fide miracle. They do not consider spontaneous remission of Cancer or any of the other things that you mentioned miraculous.
To be certified as miraculous, a medical condition that is healed must meet certain criteria. It must be something that cannot be cured naturally. It must have been healed without medical intervention, and it must be healed fully. The case must be fully documented, with statements from the physicians involved, X-rays and / or other documentation showing the reality of the condition and the result after the healing.
While it can be argued that unscrupulous physicians could manufacture a “miracle”, this is likely about as rigorous as you’ll get. Much more so than you’ll ever see on Benny Hinn or Pat Robertson’s TV shows.
Wow, we see a lot of doctors scratch their heads when they pronounce a person has days to live and there is nothing that the doctors can do to save this person. We lay hands on them and they are 100 % healed by the power of God and our faith. There was one person in the hospital that was using morphine to control the pain after the doctors said she will not make it. My Pastor went and laid hands on her and she was 100 % cured the next day. We had a person in our church, who was born with one leg shorter than the other. When we laid hands on him, his leg started to grow in front of us.
MY EXPERIENCES
I experienced God many of times, when you fellowship with him. I received the Holy Spirit one day before I came to the church that I am attending now. The power of the Holy Spirit was so powerful that it was a force that rippled from my feet through my body and up to my head. It removed the pain and depression that I had at the time and it caused a great sensation of peace (to this day, I was never water baptized). He will be there for you; he knows your needs and wants. One night after doing the will of God (ministering to someone against the book of James) I was driving back home and I continued to fall asleep on the fwy. On the third time, my ears popped opened, like a loud explosion, I felt a rush of pins and needles swirling around the inside of my head, I felt pins and needles from my elbows to my hands and then I was wide awake, like I had slept for days. I drove all the way home and when I got into the driveway I started to fall a sleep again. Once he picked me and my motorcycle up, while riding in the mountains after I was about to crash. I blacked out and when he set me back on the path, I woke up. Once he sent an angel down to stop me from doing something stupid, this angel looked like a human but when I turned away for a second and then back he vanished. I can go on and on. Have faith, sit in a church and learn God’s word. You need to find a home church, be obedient, follow his word, be baptized with the holy spirit, show your self approved and do the will of God (Mark 16: 15 – 18)
Every day.
But I tell you that my friends nice was diagnosed of the bone cancer and the family was supposed to get together for the game plan. They prayed and prayed and when the meeting was, the doctors told them that unexplainable had happened. They did not see the cancer anymore.
Lucky are those who do not see miracles but still believe.
I can perform healing miracles myself. Put my hands on a blind person and let them see. Put my hands on a paralyzed person and let them walk. Heck I don’t even have to put my hands on them I can just say, “In the name of Christ, walk” and they will. Its very cool.
Miracles are performed to strengthen a believers belief because God only cares about those who love him. Accept what the first four books of the new testament lead up to and begin to experience miracles yourself.
Hello!
Proof of Diety is seen each time an individual is born again, regeneration through the baptism of God the Holy Spirit at the moment of faith alone in Christ alone John 3:3..
No man can call Jesus Christ Lord apart from this.
Miracles are no big deal to God ,when He chooses to heal someone or rescue someone He has a reason for it.
A member of my family had a heart attack and was without oxygen for a period of 10 minutes.
God answered prayers and he lived.
When returning after a period of time for his check up, the young doctor who had been on duty in intensive care the day he was brought in, passed his wife in the passage and inquired about him.
She said “take a look he is standing in front of you.
The young doctor was shocked and all he could say was “he shouldn’t be here”!.
The hospital called him a miracle.
Take care!
Amen Enigma. You got yourself a “witness” here. I am forever getting these emails from friends who somehow believe they can “convert me”. I have seen no miracles but those within the human spirit itself.
